move better, feel better

My focus is on you, your needs and your health

ABOUT ME

I studied for 5 years at the British School of Osteopathy in London. The course is similar to a medical degree but concentrates on anatomy and musculoskeletal medicine. It also includes more than 1000 hours training in osteopathic technique.

Osteopaths are expected to continue developing their professional skills. My choice of further training has been to concentrate both on my technical skills and also ways of listening to and communicating with my clients.

I’ve completed specialised courses in Medical Acupuncture, Cranial Technique, Trigger Points, Techniques for Body Fascia, Sports Taping, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Prescriptive APPI Pilates, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Touch, Osteopathy for Pregnancy and JEMS Movement Analysis.

WORKING TOGETHER

When you come to see me, I encourage you to be fully involved in your own treatment.

If your main focus is pain relief, I’ll be clear about how long I think that will take so that you know what to expect. If you’re coming to me for ongoing help with staying pain free and maintaining good flexibility and posture, I’ll always ask you how things are going so we can continue to monitor your progress.

I will explain to you what I’m doing and why. If there are exercises or stretches that I feel are right for you, I’ll take the time to teach you and check that you’re doing them correctly. It’s important that we both know what we’re trying to achieve, what’s realistic and what’s going to work for you.

At each consultation we’ll make the decision together about what should happen next.
